Concept“Aulon” – the Impulse Multi-Barrel Fire-Fighting Vehicle – is designed to work in high caution areas, e.g. airports, hazardous production sites, oil and gas industries, nuclear and other power plants, military objects, but also for effective fighting the landscape fires etc. Its uniqueness lies especially in its exceptional power and capability, exceeding highly any other mobile fire system in the world. Just a few remarkable figures to characterize its capabilities: the system is able to extinguish from a safe and efficient distance up to 100m and more and cover (extinguish) an area of 12 000-20 000m2 with a single approach.
The basics of this system have been worked out already in the former USSR, under the leadership of Prof. V.Zakhmatov (the co-founder of PulsTech). The development process was finalized with production in 1990-s as a small series (32pcs) of the experimental multi-barrel vehicle on military tank platform (named “Impuls-3M”), many of them still working in Ukraine and Russia. After the collapse of USSR all the development subsided, the “Impuls-3M” has still kept the title of the most powerful and most efficient mobile fire-fighting system ever built. “Impuls-3M” is to be regarded as the “predecessor” of “Aulon”. How it worksThe central unit of the system is a 40-barrel launching module on top of the vehicle, loaded with two 20-chamber cassettes, and is designed normally for four consecutive shootings/volleys (from 10 barrels & chambers each), each volley (e.g. with 200kg of powder*) is designed to cover/extinguish a burning area (sector) of 350…600m2. There are 12 (or 14) additional cassettes in the special store right below the impulse launcher, equipped with a conveyor, relocating the cassettes during the reloading operation. Reloading of the cassettes is implemented by the automatic lifting mechanism. Reloading of the storage/vehicle can be implemented directly from a special transport vehicle, by linking the conveyors. By using the combined fleet of fire-fighting and of the purveying vehicles, the whole working process will be optimal, maximally efficient. |
