The hand tools basing on the principle of impulse-launching differ accordingly to their exact application area & target users. They all still have the common properties – high efficiency, ability to target from a distance, rapidity in action, reliability, simplicity in use, compactness.

There are the two main groups of the impulse hand tools

The Instant Tools

These are the relatively small (containing up to 0,5kg of agent), extremely easy-to-use, of a relatively cheap construction, disposable, having a long „shelf life“, maintaining the relability in use over the long periods (up to 10 years and more).

The range of using such a type of extinguishers can be very large – from being a part of the standard equipment of a patrol policeman up to being a part of the set (batch) of the ordinary kitchen extinguishers.

The characteristics of a typical instant extinguishers are:

Amount of extinguishing agent – 170g;

Max reach – 3m;

Max area extinguished – 1m2,

Nominal time of preparatory operations – 1sec

The Professional Tools

These are the instruments for a professional use, chracterized by the exceptional power & efficiency, their great reach, the multivariance in using (possibility to use as the agent also the on-site natural bulk materials like sand, ground, snow) etc. As foreseen for launching relatively large amounts of the agent the tools, as a rule, are endowed with anti-recoil mechanism.

This type of extinguishers are intended for using as the main working tools for firemen of rapid response forces or as of the fire crew by fighting landscape fires or where ever fire fighting is needed – a most efficient, quick and least harmful to the objects extinguished.

Different constructions of the Professional Tools have been worked out.

The base model is a single-barrel, foreseen for launching ca 1kg amount of the agent, endowed with a set of adaptables (the nozzle for scooping, the special cassette of cartridges etc.) for working with on-site materials (as the agent).

The characteristics of the base model of the professional extinguisher are:

Amount of the extinguishing agent launched with one shot  – 1kg;

Max reach – 10m;

Max area extinguished – 3m2;

Nominal time of reloading the tool  – 5sec
